Why Flexo printing machine Uses6 & 8 & 10 Color Presses?

 

CI flexo printing machine has developed rapidly in the past 20 years. A lot of clothing, food and home goods packaging is printed on flexo printing machines, which only have 4 colors, sometimes even 6 or 8 colors. So why are there so many color decks?

No need to go into detail about ink densities, spectrophotometer color matching, and other color matching parameters. There are two simple answers to this question: one is color matching, and the other is press diversity.

Color matching on CI flexo printing machine 4 color is different from cloth printing machine digital fabric printer or offset printing machine. Printed images from CI flexo printing machine 4 color usually have excellent clarity and good color vibrancy, while solid colors made from process colors are often muted or too bright. Printers will usually punch and print solid colors in their PMS; hence the need for a 6th or 8th color deck. Typically printing HD (High Definition) flexo requires 6 swatches to start. Printing opaque white on transparencies is another reason for the need for additional printing units.
